Bersten instantly became a fan favorite of the pop-culture phenomenon Dancing with the Stars, officially joining the cast as a professional partner in 2017. Since then, he has made it to the finale on multiple occasions with celebrity partners like television personality and fitness instructor, Amanda Kloots. He has even taken home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy alongside his partner, The Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown, as well as the DWTS Juniors trophy with the world’s youngest professional skateboarder, Sky Brown, serving as his partner.
An athlete who has always valued his health and wellness, Bersten’s life was forever changed when, amid the 2018 Dancing with the Stars: Live tour, he discovered a calcium level abnormality that led to doctors finding a tumor in his neck. Bersten underwent successful surgery, and the tumor was benign, but the experience has given him a new lease on life. He hopes his story will encourage others not to skip their regular check-up appointments and to look after their physical and mental health.
