Whether that’s two brands partnering together to provide a limited-edition collection, a brand working with a nostalgic pop culture property, or a brand and creator partnering together to harness the power of influence, they can create a true buzz-worthy moment for all parties involved.
Of course, not all collaborations were created equally, which is why we’re looking at some recent successful launches to assess why they are such strong partnerships and what fellow marketers can learn from these collabs.
Here are 4 lessons brands marketers can take away from this season’s hottest collaborations, as well as specific examples of those lessons at work:
Fandom Expression is Powerful
Fans are wearing their pop culture allegiances on their sleeves (sometimes literally) these days. When brands can tap into that by collaborating with relevant Intellectual Properties (IP), the result can be absolutely magical. As with any collaboration, brands need to assess their consumer base to find the properties that will make the most sense for their customers.
Mooncat x Avatar: The Last Airbender

Nail lacquer brand Mooncat is already a leader in the space when it comes to pushing boundaries with their inventive formulas, but they’ve kicked things up to a new level with their Avatar: The Last Airbender collection. With 8 formulas inspired by the popular Nickelodeon show, they’ve found a way to mix fandom, nostalgia, and beauty into one stunning collection. Fans of the show will adore the themed packaging and playful shade names, as well as how the colors bring characters to life, while Mooncat fans who might not be familiar with Avatar can still be wowed by the creative formulas, including the glow-in-the-dark “Avatar State”.
Wicked x Sock Candy

The Wicked marketing team has crushed it with their many brand collaborations this year and last, but the best ones provide fun and functional ways for Wicked fans to incorporate the world of Oz into their everyday lives. The Wicked x Sock Candy collaboration works so well because they’ve artfully translated the colors, motifs, and characters of Wicked into cute socks that double as a statement accessory. Major fans will be able to spot their favorite characters in the socks, and beyond that, they’re cute footwear accessories that will add to one’s outfit. The designs still adhere to Sock Candy’s adorable classic styles, perfectly merging the two properties.
Loungefly x Disney

Loungefly has become one of the go-to brands for fandom accessorizing, and with good reason. They’ve mastered the art of blending IP with strong aesthetics to create stylish pop culture-infused fashion. For example, their Disney collaborations do a wonderful job of taking design and character references from beloved films and transforming them into accessories that are recognizable without being overt; instead of a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs logo emblazoned across a purse, fans can rock a poison apple purse to the parks for a chic spin on the Evil Queen’s most iconic accessory. Loungefly recognized that there was a lack of fashion-first merchandise for Disney and other pop culture properties and filled that gap, providing a go-to destination for fashionable fans.
The Right Influencer Partner Is Key
As an influencer marketing company, we, of course, love a good influencer x brand collaboration. However, not all influencer collaborations are made equal. It is so important for brands to do their due diligence and find the right creator partner who aligns with the brand’s style and values. It is also essential to collaborate with creators who can drive sales, not just likes, with their content.
Lauren Lane x Andar

Leather goods brand Andar has partnered with creator Lauren Lane several times now, and it’s no shock why they keep coming back, as they’ve found the perfect influencer partner in Lane. Her personal style and design ethos blend effortlessly with Andar’s, allowing them to collaborate on new colorways and designs that feel authentic to Lane’s style and will appeal to both her fans and fans of Andar. As an influencer, she also has a proven track record of being able to promote and sell products, so Andar could come into the collaboration knowing that Lane was a reliable partner who would drive sales. Because they took time to find the right creator partner, the collections have been huge successes that have continually sold out.
Elevate The Everyday
Some of the best collaboration projects come out of elevating the everyday experience with luxury, limited-edition versions of beloved favorites. Collaborations should provide a unique experience for customers with unexpected but delightful mergings of brands and products.
Stanley 1913 x LoveShackFancy

Drinkware brand Stanley 1913 and fashion label LoveShackFancy have partnered 4 times to infuse LoveShackFancy style into Stanley 1913’s popular drinkware, with their holiday 2025 collaboration being their biggest (and best) yet. The partnership between these two brands has proven incredibly fruitful because they’ve discovered strong alignment between their two customer bases and provided elegant, limited-edition styles that they know their combined fanbases will adore.
Swarovski x Loop

How do you transform a necessity (in this case, Loop earplugs) into an elevated fashion statement? Partner with Swarovski, of course! The iconic jewelry brand put its spin on the Loop Experience 2 earplugs, which are specifically designed to be worn during concerts and other loud, social experiences. The result: a product that combines peak functionality with personal style. These crystal earplugs are sure to start a conversation and, by extension, build brand awareness for both collaborators.
Food and Fashion Are A Match Made In Heaven
Food and fashion are a powerful duo in the marketing world; think of the popularity of “butter yellow” or “glazed donut nails” for just a few recent examples. That makes collaborations between fashion and food brands equally iconic. They’re just the right amount of unexpected and can connect two fanbases in a fun new way.
Heinz x Herschel

Luggage company Herschel found an iconic collaboration partner in Heinz, the ketchup brand, with their recent collaboration. Not only were they able to apply the signature Heinz Ketchup red to a carry-on and checked luggage pieces, but they added additional special touches like a ketchup packet-shaped luggage tag, “tear here” detail, and a ketchup pack print interior to make these pieces the ultimate collectible for ketchup lovers.
P.J. Salvage x Sprinkles

What’s cozier than eating sweets in your favorite pajama set? How about a pajama set decorated with desserts! P.J. Salvage and Sprinkles made that a reality with their new holiday collection, releasing two sweet cupcake-themed prints in P.J. Salvage’s classic sets and styles. The cupcake prints make for an adorable motif, and they’re made even better with Sprinkles’ specific cupcake designs.
